One Accord Community Development organization is a federally tax-exempt charitable organization under section 501(c)3. OACD Organization has hosted events, outreach projects, collaborated with other organizations, and established a scholarship fund. Our vision is to serve distressed communities by empowering residents through job readiness education to increase career opportunities; enhance economic development through financial education; and strengthening communities through collaborative efforts.
Shuntae Richardson is the Founder and CEO who has over twenty years of experience in the non-profit and corporate sectors. She is a member of The National Society of Leadership Success. Her professional experience includes: accounting, customer service, insurance claims, office management, mortgage lending, event planning, and community and business development. Shuntae’s professional affiliations have allowed her to serve as a board of trustee member for several non-profit organizations, the planning committee for villages, townships, and the chamber of commerce for various communities. Some of her earlier work included traveling throughout the Chicagoland area, presenting workshops in corporate settings, and facilitating budgeting simulations in high schools. According to workshop participants Shuntae has been instrumental in motivating and encouraging others to reach their highest potential in life.
We prepare teens and adults to seek employment. Our program covers communication, time management, interviewing skills, appropriate attire, and mock interviews.
Financial literacy is important. We facilitate budgeting simulations for 7th grade through 1st-year college students. Adult topics cover; What is credit? What is the purpose of a credit score? How to manage your credit? and First Time Homebuyer Seminars.
One of the pillars of our organization is collaboration. This includes community engagement, outreach, and events.
In honor of Barbara Webb, Bessie Bowie, Willie Diontae Ellis and Nikki Shepard, OACD Organization will award three educational scholarships in the Spring of 2022 to individuals that would like to further their education.
In honor of Cynthia Stewart Jackson a donation will be made to further the research on Sickle Cell Anemia.
